Mom'S Icebox Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 cakes yeast or 2 envelopes dry
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 7 c. plain flour

Directions

    Crumble yeast into the 1/4 cup of warm water and let dissolve. Pour boiling water over sugar, shortening and salt and let cool. Add yeast, beaten eggs and about 4 cups flour.

    Beat thoroughly. Add rest of flour and knead until flour is gone.

    Place in covered, greased bowl in icebox overnight.
