  • 1 cup moong dal /Green Gram
  • 2 green chillies Chopped
  • 1 onion finely Chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • water as required
  • salt as required
  • oil for deep frying or shallow frying

Directions

    Soak Moong Dal in water for 3 to 4 hours or for whole night if time permits.

    Drain them out of water the next day and rinse.

    Then add Moong Dal, Chopped Green Chillies, Ginger to the Mixer Jar and Grind them to a smooth paste.

    Grind Black Pepper and Coriander Seeds. Add this powder to the Moong Dal batter. Season it with some salt and then mix it well.

    Then add finely chopped onions to the batter.

    Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.

    Then drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry till crisp or golden brown.

    Serve it hot or warm with chutney of your choice or with tomato sauce. Even without any dips this one tastes great.
