- 1 can black beans
- 1/4 lb. bacon, cut in small 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
- salt
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- 4 c. hot cooked rice
Directions

1Cook bacon in skillet until lightly browned.

2Remove and drain. Add onion and garlic to skillet and cook until tender.

3Combine onion, garlic, beans, bacon, 2 cups water and remaining ingredients (except rice) in a large saucepan and simmer slowly for 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender.

4Serve spooned over hot cooked rice with additional chopped onion to taste.
