Ingredients

  • strawberry coulis
  • 1/4 cup strawberry preserves
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • Smoothie
  • 3 frozen peeled bananas
  • 1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt
  • 1 cup orange juice (or pineapple juice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Garnish
  • fresh strawberries
  • orange slice

Directions

    In a blender, blend the strawberry preserves and berries until smooth and creamy. Transfer to a small bowl and chill until needed. Note: this can be made ahead of time and refrigerated.

    In a clean blender combine the bananas and remaining smoothie ingredients until smooth.

    To serve use a 10 oz wine goblet, Fill with 1/4 cup strawberry puree and pour banana mixture over to fill glass. This creates a 'sunrise' in your glass. Garnish with a fresh berry and orange slice.
