- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. parsley flakes
- 1 tsp. basil
- 3/4 c. onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 6 oz. can tomato paste
- 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 4 oz. can mushrooms, drained
- 1/4 c. red wine
- 3 c. uncooked mostaccioli
Directions

1Saute onion and garlic in oil; set aside.

2Cook meat until done.

3Rinse off fat.

4Add to onion mixture and add remaining ingredients, except noodles.

5Cook to a boiling point, stirring frequently.

6Reduce heat and simmer slowly about an hour until it thickens.

7Cook noodles according to directions.

8Mix sauce and noodles.

9Serve with grated Romano or Parmesan cheese.
