- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. warm milk
- 1/3 c. shortening, melted and cooled
- 1 c. warm water
- 7 to 7 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1In a large bowl dissolve yeast in water.

2Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg, milk and 3 cups flour.

3Stir; let rest 10 minutes. Mix in enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough.

4Turn out and knead until smooth, about 8 to 10 minutes.

5Place in a greased bowl.

6Cover and let rise until doubled.

7Punch dough down. Turn out onto a surface and let rest for 5 minutes.

8Grease muffin cups.

9Divide into balls in each cup.

10Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.

11Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
