- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 3/4 lb. flour
- 6 eggs
- 1 pt. sour cream
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 lb. citron
- 2 lemons (juice of 1 and rind of 2)
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- some mace
- 1 lb. raisins
- 1 lb. currants
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar; add the egg yolks, well beaten, then the cream and flour with spices alternately, then the well beaten egg whites.

2Last of all, the well floured fruit.

3Bake about 2 hours.

4Cover top first hour with buttered paper.

5This was probably baked in a brick oven at Mount Vernon.
