- 1 cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
- 2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 2 12 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- salt, pinch
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 12 cups chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- salt, pinch
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2Generously grease 9x13 pan.

3Cream 1 cup butter with sugar in a large bowl.

4Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

5Mix in oats, flour, vanilla, baking soda and salt.

6Stir in 1 cup walnuts and set aside.

7Combine milk and chocolate in top of double boiler set over hot water and stir until chocolate melts.

8Add remaining ingredients and blend well.

9Spoon 2/3 of the oat mixture into prepared pan, compacting with a fork.

10Spread chocolate mixture over top.

11Crumble remaining oat mixture and chocolate and spread with a fork.

12Bake until golden, 25 to 30 minutes.

13Cool.

14Cut into 2 inch bars.
