- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 c. thinly sliced white mushrooms
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. low-fat milk
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Heat 1 teaspoon oil in medium skillet over medium heat.

2Add onion and garlic.

3Cook until softened (2 minutes).

4Stir in mushrooms.

5Cook until browned (about 5 minutes).

6Remove mushroom mixture from skillet and set aside.

7Place the remaining oil and flour in skillet.

8Stir to mix.

9Turn heat to low and cook, stirring constantly, until flour turns deep brown.

10Still stirring, gradually add milk.

11Cook until mixture thickens (about 4 minutes).

12Stir in the mushroom mixture.

13Add salt and pepper. Serve immediately! Serves 4.
