- 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- Dash of Worcestershire sauce
- Dash of ground nutmeg
Directions

1Saute mushrooms in butter in a small saucepan over low heat 5 minutes. Add flour, stirring until mushrooms are well coated. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add beef broth; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in remaining ingredients. Serve with hamburgers, meat loaf, or steaks.
