  • 3/4 c. light brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • 1/4 tsp. turmeric
  • 3/4 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 lb. green or yellow beans, well drained

Directions

    In a 1 1/2-quart saucepan, thoroughly stir together the sugar, flour, mustard, celery seed, salt and turmeric.

    Gradually stir in vinegar, keeping smooth.

    Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and boiling.

    Add beans, mix in gently.

    Cool.
