Ingredients
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 5 eggs (beaten)
- 3/4 cup canola oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup warm water
- 6 -8 cups flour
- 1 egg (beaten)
Directions

1Combine the water, yeast and sugar. Let stand 10 minutes.

2Meanwhile, beat the eggs, oil, salt and sugar until pale yellow.

3Add flour, 1 cup at a time.

4Knead 10 minutes.

5Place in a sprayed bowl. Cover with a damp towel. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

6Punch down. Knead again.

7Repeat rising for 30 minutes.

8Punch down. Divide into 3 even pieces.

9Roll each out into a rope shape.

10Braid.
-
11Cover. Let rise 30 minutes.

12Heat oven 400.

13Brush loaf with egg.

14Bake 10 minutes. Reduce oven temp to 350. Bake 30 more minutes.

15Let cool on racks.
