Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 c. celery, chopped
- 4 to 5 c. cornbread, crumbled
- 2 c. dried bread crumbs
- 3 (14 1/2 oz. each) cans chicken broth
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. sage
Directions

1Saute onion and celery in butter or margarine.

2Remove from heat.

3Add cornbread and bread crumbs.

4Add egg and seasonings. Add broth.

5Mixture will be watery.

6Pour into 9 x 13-inch casserole dish and bake at 400° for 45 minutes or until top is brown and dressing doesn't wiggle when shaken.

7Don't overcook. Tastes even better rewarmed.

8Freezes well.

9Serves 10 to 12.
