My Strawberry Pie

- 1 each pie shell (9 inch) 9 inch baked
- 1 1/2 quarts strawberries
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 13 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 cups whipped topping, prepared lite
Directions

1Chop 2 cups of berries.

2In saucepan combine sugar and cornstarch.

3Slowly add water to combine smoothly.

4Add chopped strawberries.

5Cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils.

6Cool in refrigerator for about 1/2 hour.

7Pour about 3/4 of mixture into prepared pie crust.

8Stand up whole strawberries in syrup (to fill crust).

9Pour remaining syrup over strawberries.

10Chill until firm (about 3 hours).

11Spread cool whip over top of pie and serve.
