Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs hamburger
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach (thawed & drained)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 cups hot cooked rice

Directions

    Combine first 9 ingredients, mix well; form into 18 - 2 in diameter meatballs.

    Place in lightly greased shallow baking pan. Bake at 450 for 20 minute.

    In a separate pan, blend broth, tomato sauce, wine & cornstarch. Stirring constantly until thickened over medium heat.

    Pour over meatballs, stir into pan juices.

    Reduce heat to 350 & continue baking for 30 min longer.

    Serve over beds of rice.
