  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 18 saltine crackers, crushed by hand

Directions

    Beat eggs until foamy.

    Add cream of tartar.

    Continue beating until stiff.

    Add vanilla, sugar, nuts and crackers.

    Pour into a large greased pie plate and spread evenly.

    Cook on top shelf of oven at 325° for 35 to 40 minutes (until lightly brown).

    Cool completely before filling.
