  • 1 lb. lean ground meat
  • 1 (16 oz.) jar Pace picante sauce (mild)
  • 15 1/2 oz. can yellow hominy, drained
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. water
  • 2 c. tortilla chips nacho cheese flavored, broken into pieces (not crushed)
  • 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese (medium)

    Heat oven to 350°.

    Brown ground meat in a small amount of butter or margarine.

    Drain grease.

    Stir into ground meat the picante sauce, hominy, chili powder and water.

    In an 11 3/4 x 7 1/2 x 1 3/4-inch Pyrex dish, layer 1/2 of meat mixture, chips and cheese; repeat layer.

    Bake 20 minutes in a 350° oven or until bubbly and thoroughly heated.
