Ingredients
- 8 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. anise seed
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 2 sticks melted butter
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 eggs
Directions

1Stir first 4 ingredients.

2Mix together milk and butter. Make sure this mixture is good and warm but not too hot as to kill the yeast.

3Add yeast.

4Mix together.

5Pour warmed liquid mixture into flour mixture.

6Stir well and add eggs.

7Mix together well. Knead together well (about 7 to 8 minutes).

8Let mixture rise in bowl for 2 hours.

9Roll out and cut into symmetrical strips. Place in greased pan.

10Cover with a damp cloth for 30 minutes. Pat down to 1/2-inch high.

11Bake at 250° until bottoms turn brown. Place under broiler to brown tops.

12Watch closely as to not burn.
