Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Irish whiskey, preferably a peated single malt, such as Connemara
  • 1/2 ounce Branca Menta (bitter, minty Italian digestif)
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce Ginger Syrup
  • 1/2 ounce honey syrup (2 teaspoons honey mixed with 1 teaspoon warm water)
  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces chilled club soda
  • 1 lemon twist
  • Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish

Directions

    In a cocktail shaker, combine the whiskey, Branca Menta, lemon juice, Ginger Syrup and honey syrup.

    Fill the shaker with ice and shake well.

    Strain into a chilled ice-filled highball glass and stir in the club soda.

    Pinch the lemon twist over the drink and discard.

    Garnish with the nutmeg.
