  • 1 qt. milk
  • 3/4 c. molasses
  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • 1/4 tsp. each: nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. shortening
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar or honey
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Heat milk in saucepan.

    Add molasses and cornmeal to the milk. Stir until it is all mixed together.

    Now boil.

    Remove the pan from the heat.

    Add the butter, sugar, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger.

    Cool for 10 minutes.

    Stir in the beaten eggs.
