Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 yeast pkg., dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Mix in saucepan the milk, shortening and sugar; heat to scalding point.

    Cool.

    Combine with the dissolved yeast, beaten eggs and salt, then mix in 2 cups of the flour.

    Let stand for 2 hours.

    Add in remaining 4 1/2 cups flour.

    Mix and knead well. Let rise, punch down and make into buns.

    Let rise again and bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
