- 4 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 c. milk, scalded
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Beat eggs, sugar, salt and 1 teaspoon vanilla in bowl.

2Heat 3 cups milk in a large saucepan and here is the secret of success or failure.

3Let the milk come right up side of pan.

4Watch it very close as it may cook over pan, then add hot milk slowly to ingredients and pour in unbaked crust.

5Bake at 400° for 10 minutes, then at 375° for about 30 minutes.

6Sprinkle top of pie with nutmeg before baking if desired.
