- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. scalded milk
- nutmeg
- 9 or 10-inch unbaked pie shell
Directions

1Combine beaten eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla; add to scalded milk, stirring continuously.

2Pour 2/3 of mixture into pie shell. Sit it on oven rack and pour in remaining filling.

3Sprinkle with nutmeg.

4Bake at 400° for 10 minutes.

5Reduce heat to 350° and bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes, until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
