Ingredients
- 1 yeast cake
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1/4 c. lard
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
Directions

1Dissolve yeast cake in warm water.

2In a separate bowl place lard, salt and sugar.

3Pour boiling water over and stir until dissolved.

4When lukewarm, add yeast with wire whisk.

5Beat in egg. Stir in sifted flour to make a soft dough.

6Place dough in a large bowl and cover with plate and put in refrigerator.

7Chill from 2 to 12 hours.

8Pinch off small pieces of dough with buttered hands. Place in greased muffin pans (preferably).

9Fill 1/3 full and raise 2 hours.

10Bake at 425° for 20 minutes.
