  • 2 (15 oz.) boxes vanilla wafers
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1 lb. red candied cherries
  • 1 lb. green candied cherries
  • 1 lb. candied pineapple
  • 1 (15 oz.) box golden raisins
  • 1 pt. pecans, chopped
  • 1 pt. English walnuts, chopped

Directions

    Crush wafers; mix with milk and syrup.

    Let warm to room temperature.

    In a separate bowl, mix fruits and nuts.

    Mix well with wafers.

    Pack tightly in a buttered pan that can be put in oven.

    Put into refrigerator overnight.

    Next day, preheat oven to 400° for 15 minutes.

    Then turn oven off and place cake in oven about 15 minutes.

    Run knife around edge of pan and turn cake out onto double layer of foil.

    Wrap and keep in refrigerator.
