- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
- 1 1/2 c. chopped, peeled potatoes
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 (17 oz.) can cream-style corn
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
- 5 slices crisp-fried bacon
Directions

1Saute onion in bacon drippings in a saucepan until lightly browned.

2Add potatoes and water.

3Cook, uncovered, over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until tender.

4Add corn, milk, salt and pepper.

5Heat to serving temperature over low heat, stirring frequently.

6Do not boil.

7Ladle into soup bowls.

8Top with crumbled bacon.
