  • 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 c. diced apples
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add beaten egg.

    Sift together flour, salt, soda, nutmeg and cinnamon.

    Add to creamed mixture. Stir in apples and nuts.

    Pour into 8 x 8-inch pan which has been greased and floured.

    Bake at 375° for 40 minutes.

    Cool.

    Serve with whipped cream.
