- 3 lb. shoulder or breast of lamb
- 1 large head cabbage, cut in 8 pieces
- 2 tsp. whole peppercorns, tied in cheesecloth
- 2 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. flour
Directions

1Cut meat into serving pieces; put them in large saucepan.

2Add water; cover.

3Bring to a boil; simmer for 1 hour.

4Remove meat from pan; set aside.

5Leave liquid in pan.

6Layer meat and cabbage in same pan while you sprinkle each layer with flour and salt. Put pepper bag into kettle.

7Cover; bring to a boil.

8Simmer for 1 hour.

9Serve with boiled potatoes and cranberry sauce.
