- 1 c. nuts
- 3/4 c. raisins
- 1/3 c. bourbon
- 6 eggs, separated
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
Directions

1Soak nuts and raisins in bourbon for 2 hours.

2Drain, saving liquid for cake.

3Cream butter and 1/2 the sugar well; add egg yolks.

4Beat well.

5Add flour and bourbon, rotating.

6Add vanilla; mix well.

7Mix in nuts and raisins.

8Beat egg whites until stiff. Add the other 1/2 sugar.

9Fold into dough.
-
10Bake at 275° for 1 1/2 hours.

11Makes 2 loaves.
