- 2 c. sifted flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. shortening or oil
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together.

2Add nuts.

3Combine milk, egg and shortening or oil.

4Add to dry ingredients.

5Stir until well mixed.

6Pour into greased 8 x 4-inch loaf pan.

7Let stand 20 minutes before baking.

8Bake at about 350° for about 1 hour. Check at 40 minutes.
