  • 3 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla or 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 4 eggs (unbeaten)
  • 1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped fine

Directions

    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl.

    Add Crisco, milk and 2 eggs.

    Beat for 3 minutes.

    Add remaining 2 eggs and beat for 3 minutes.

    Fold in nuts.

    Put in well-greased tube pan.

    Bake at 375° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

    Cool on wire rack for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Remove from pan.
