  • 4 c. flour (plain)
  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 lb. pecans (2 qt.)
  • 6 eggs
  • 3/4 lb. butter or margarine
  • 2/3 c. wine or juice
  • 3 tsp. spice (nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves; 1 each)
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Dissolve teaspoon soda in molasses.

    Mix flour, raisins and pecans.

    Beat eggs, butter and sugar.

    Add wine and spices and add to flour mixture and molasses mixture.

    Bake 4 hours at 250°.
