- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 cup sweet milk
- 1/4 cup butter melted
- 2 cups flour, all-purpose
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 each eggs well beaten
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons nuts chopped
Directions

1Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking soda, salt, and ginger.

2Combine 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, molasses, butter, and eggs.

3Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to sugar and molasses mixture.

4Beat until well blended.

5Pour into well-oiled baking pan.

6Sprinkle with nuts and 1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar.

7Bake in moderate oven at 375F (190C).
