- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 2 (7 g) envelopes yeast
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 3 cups boiling water
- 23 cup molasses
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 14 cup shortening, melted
- 7 cups flour
Directions

1Mix sugar, water and yeast, let stand for 20 minutes.

2Soak oats in hot water for 15 minutes.

3Add molasses, salt shortening and yeast to cooled oats.

4Blend.

5Gradually mix in flour, knead until smooth.

6Place in a greased bowl, Cover and allow to stand in a warm place until double in bulk.

7Knead slightly and place in two greased loaf pans.

8Cover, let stand in warm place until double in bulk.

9Bake at 350F for 40 minutes.
