  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 12 cup butter
  • 1 12 cups water, boiling
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 13 cups flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 12 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 12 cup nutmeats (optional)

Directions

    In pan boil water add butter; stir in oatmeal and let stand 20 minutes.

    Pour into mixer bowl and add eggs and the first two sugars; mix.

    Add flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and nutmeg.

    Mix well.

    Put into a 9x13-inch pan.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

    Frosting------------.

    Boil the three ingredients for the frosting for 1 minute.

    Add coconut and nutmeat.

    When you take cake from oven put the frosting on cake.
