- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 c. quick oats
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugars.

2Mix in eggs and vanilla.

3Sift flour, salt and soda.

4Fold into creamed mixture.

5Stir in oats and nuts.

6Roll into small balls and place on a greased cookie sheet. Flatten with a fork.

7Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or make refrigerator cookies by forming dough into 1 1/2 inches in diameter.

8Chill before baking or divide dough into 4 parts.

9Make oblong rolls or put in deep freeze and bake next day or later. Dough will keep for a long period of time in deep freeze.

10Bake next morning or any time about 350° for 10 to 15 minutes.
