Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 c. uncooked oatmeal
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 1/3 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Mix all ingredients and chill overnight.

    Divide dough into egg-sized balls and roll into very, very thin sheets on a flour-covered pastry cloth.

    Transfer to cookie sheets and bake at 325° to 350° until light tan.

    It does not need to be turned over. Store in closed container to keep dry.

    Serve with butter.
