- 2 c. oatmeal (uncooked)
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. margarine or butter, melted
- 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/3 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 (12 to 16 oz.) jar jam (any flavor)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease an 11 x 7-inch glass baking dish.

3Combine all ingredients, except jam; mix well.

4Reserve 3/4 cup oats mixture; press remaining mixture onto bottom of prepared dish.

5Bake 10 minutes.

6Spread jam evenly over partially-baked base to within 1/2 inch of edge of pan; sprinkle with reserved oats mixture.

7Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.

8Cool; cut into bars.

9Store tightly covered at room temperature.
