- 1 c. oats
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Add boiling water to oats in a small bowl, let stand 15 minutes.

2Blend sugar, oil and eggs thoroughly.

3Stir in oatmeal. Stir in nuts.

4Spread in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

5Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes until cake tests done with a toothpick. Immediately spread with frosting and broil 3 to 5 minutes until lightly browned.
