Oatmeal (Raisin) Cookies

Ingredients

  • 34 cup butter or 34 cup margarine
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar (I use dark brown sugar)
  • 12 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 14 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 14 teaspoon ground cloves (I don't use it) (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 34 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup raisins (optional)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 375F.

    In a large bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium for 1/2 minute.

    Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon and cloves if desired.

    Beat until well mixed, scraping sides of bowl occasionally.

    Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until combined.

    Beat in as much flour as you can with mixer, then stir in remaining flour with a wooden spoon.

    Stir in rolled oats, mix well.

    If using raisins, stir in now.

    Drop dough in rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

    Cool on wire rack.
