- 4 c. lean, cubed beef
- 1 beef soup bone
- 4 c. fresh tomatoes, finely chopped
- 4 c. fresh butter beans
- 2 c. sliced okra
- 4 c. cubed ham
- 1 ham bone
- 4 c. fresh corn, cut from cob
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Barely cover ham, beef and bones with water and cook until tender.

2Skim off fat if necessary.

3Add butter beans, tomatoes, salt and pepper.

4When beans are half cooked, add okra.

5Add corn during last 15 minutes of cooking.

6If necessary, add more water. This makes a hearty, thick soup.

7Serve over rice or with biscuits or cornbread.
