- 2 lb. salt pork
- 2 lb. Great Northern beans
- 1 c. white sugar
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Slice pork to rind (not all the way through).

2Freshen pork by boiling to get out salt.

3May have to be done twice.

4Add fresh water and cook until tender.

5Save liquid to add to beans.

6Cook beans in large pan with baking soda.

7Bring to boil.

8Pour off water and add fresh water.

9Cook until skins start to fall off. Place in casserole.

10Add liquid from pork.

11Place pork on top of beans.

12Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours or until beans are brown. Add more water while cooking so beans do not dry out, then enjoy!
