Old-Fashioned Butter Roll

  • 3 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks real butter
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

    Mix enough milk with flour to make a medium stiff dough. Separate dough into 4-inch balls.

    Roll each ball out as thin as possible.

    When rolled out, place pats of butter across middle. Spoon sugar across butter.

    Roll pastry to cover butter and sugar. Continue until each ball is made into roll.

    Place rolls into a pan 3 inches deep.
