Old Fashioned Lemon Pie

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 2 Tbsp. corn meal
  • 2 lemons

Directions

    Cream margarine and sugar.

    Beat in egg yolks.

    Add water mixed with corn meal.
  4. 4
    Add lemon juice and grated rind of lemons. Lastly, fold in beaten egg whites.

    Cook on unbaked pie crust. This makes 2 large pies. Start at 350°, then turn to 300° after starts to brown (about 10 minutes).

    Cook about 25 minutes all together.

    I cook these pies on a preheated cookie sheet to help the crust get done on the bottom.
