- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. butter (at room temperature)
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs (at room temperature)
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 tsp. lemon extract
Directions

1Grease and flour a tube pan.

2In a large bowl cream together the shortening, butter and sugar.

3Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.

4Sift the flour and baking powder together and add the mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and extracts.

5Bake in a 325° oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

6Let the cake cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Serves 8.
