Old Fashioned Raisin Bread Pudding

  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. white bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter

Directions

    Combine sugar, salt, beaten eggs, cooled milk, butter and vanilla.

    Place bread crumbs in casserole and dust with cinnamon and pour mixture over all.

    Set casserole in pan of hot water; bake at 325° for 45 to 50 minutes, until knife inserted comes out clean.

    Serve warm with butterscotch sauce.
