Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 3 Tbsp. sugar (heaping)
- 3 Tbsp. shortening (slightly rounded)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 3 c. flour (unsifted)
Directions

1In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add sugar, shortening, salt, egg and 1 cup flour.

3Beat for 2 minutes.

4Add remaining 2 cups flour and beat until dough crawls up beaters. Cover with wet towel and let rise in warm place for 1 hour, or until double in bulk.

5Punch down.

6Pour onto floured board and knead until easy to handle.

7Shape as desired.

8Place in pan and let rise for 1 hour.

9Bake at 400° until brown.

10Suitable for freezing.
