  • 5 c. self-rising flour
  • 3 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. lard
  • 1 tsp. sugar

Directions

    Sift flour and cut lard into mixture.

    Add sugar and buttermilk; mix well with hands.

    Roll out and place apart on baking sheet that has been greased with margarine.

    Bake at 450° for about 18 minutes, or until brown on the bottom, then broil tops until golden brown.

    Brush margarine over the tops while hot.
