Old World Raspberry Bars

- 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 egg
- 10 oz. jar (3/4 c.) raspberry preserves
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2In a large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients, except raspberry preserves.

3Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed (2 to 3 minutes).

4Reserve 1 1/2 cups mixture and set aside.

5Press remaining mixture into greased 8-inch square baking pan.

6Spread preserves to within 1/2-inch from edge.

7Crumble reserved 1 1/2 cups mixture over preserves.

8Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely.

9Cut into bars.
