Ingredients

  • 12 slices bread, remove crust
  • 3/4 c. boiled ham or chipped beef
  • 1/2 lb. grated cheese
  • butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 3 c. cornflakes
  • 1/2 c. melted butter

Directions

    Place 6 buttered slices of bread with buttered side down in casserole dish.

    Top each slice with chopped ham and cheese.

    Top with remaining bread.

    Beat eggs with milk and dry mustard.

    Pour over all.

    Top with cornflakes mixed with melted butter. Refrigerate overnight or let stand 4 hours.

    Bake 45 minutes at 350° or until topping is crispy brown.

    (Topping may be added before baking, instead of being added before refrigerator.) Serves 6.
